Just thought I’d throw this out there for ya’ll as it’s bothered me for a while.
You know how you get spam and don’t like it? Know how spam has those links at the bottom that say “Remove From List” and more often than not clicking on those links just lets the spammers know that you actually read the mail inundating you with piles more? Know how you no longer click on that little little link? Know how you think it’s safe now? Know how some spam emails have images in them? Know how those images can load from a server? Know how those images probably send a request along with them informing the spammer of your email address?
Yeah…just opening a piece of spam is likely to expose you to even more spam. If at all possible turn off automatic image loading by default. It’s not too much to ask you to click on a button to show images from unknown email addresses, init?
