The perfect combination

I really wanted to play a game but I knew it would take up all my time…fortunately I decided to play Black & White.

I trained the creature and finished all the quests (except the last one) for the first island. Now it’s just a matter of training the creature to behave and to cast miracles all the time.

I played it for about an hour but after that I studied Bio while it ran around the island learning about things, watching and casting miracles once in a while. I’ll try to train it to plant forests on its own but that is a complex task since it has to pick up the smaller trees, transplant them and then water them. Course, I also want to make the creature strong so every once in a while I’ll get it to pick up a rock and then run to one end of the island and then back to the temple (where it can rest).

Had a couple problems: it’s eaten 10 people so far..6 of those were during a time when I thought I had it trained but it hasn’t eaten any recently (after letting it run around on its own for an hour). I didn’t fully potty train it so for a bit it brought its own droppings back to the Temple but I want it to throw it out in the field or ocean. Of course it hasn’t been shown that having a creature that doesn’t use the facilities doesn’t get harmed, but I don’t want it to be uncomfortable.

Also, this is the first time I’m starting with the Tiger. In the past I’ve used mainly the Ape and also the Cow (on several occasions) but never the tiger. Even though the tiger isn’t as intelligent as the Ape I’ve found it to be quite curious (it’s a cat) and also quick learning. The time it’s taken to get it to cast its own miracles (without being told) is quite close to that of the Ape. Of course the Tiger being faster and more inquisative means it gets more learning oppurtunities. The tiger is also a bit head strong and so it tries more things and sometimes gets punished. Basically, things that would have happenned much later for the Ape or Cow are happenning sooner with the Tiger thus allowing it to be better trained.

I remember the game being as fun as it has been and I can’t wait for my little tiger to grow up. Of course, I’ll try to keep it but I’m itching to trade it in for a Lion…but I’m gonna see what happens. I figure that 5 more hours on the first level (of training) and then I’ll let it play around for another couple before heading over to the next level 🙂

Remember kids, train now so that you won’t have to put the fire on your creatures back out later (the whole falling balls of fire and what not).
